Redesigning the hall of the EASD
2017, Valencia, Spain
The aim of this project is to create a modular design of the hall-reception furniture in the Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño (EASD).
This project was part of a subject called Projects of industrialized elements. The first requirement was that it had to be an industrializable project. The second was that I had to use Neolith materials.
Analizing the space I found that there are five possible perspectives to visualize the space of the entrance: Entering in the school, going down the stairs from the mezzanine, going down the stairs from the first floor, going up the stairs from the basement and, finally, leaving the elevator on the ground floor.
Therefore, I found it interesting to create a module that changes shape according to the point of view.
As for the sensations, I wanted to focus the project on the idea of creating a HOME. A space where workers can customize everything at will.
In addition, I wanted to connect directly with the school by representing an unfinished house, alluding to the passage of students through the school. That’s where we set our foundations as designers, but when we finish we still have a long way to go where we will learn and add all those elements that will help us build our future as professionals.
